Before You Go

Important notes for before you leave for China.

  • Download the apps for ZOOM and Skype onto your phones and computers - The US version has more security and privacy
  • Consider signing up for a free US phone number on a service i.e. Google Voice. This number may be helpful to include in bank / credit card profiles when in need of text verification out of country.
  • Download VPNs. Check with expats in your city to see which ones are currently accessible.
  • Clean old / sensitive documents from all of your devices
